Ourense, 04/06/2021.- Ourense Vinis Terrae, Salón del Vino y Licores Gallegos de Calidad continues to organize its next edition that will take place in Expourense on June 14 and 15, 2021, which will be held in hybrid format, between face-to-face and virtual, to adapt to the new context caused by the normal pandemic. This morning the second meeting of the organizing committee of this event was held virtually to present the advances in the commercialization of exhibiting Galician wineries, in the recruitment of national buyers and international importers and in the organization of the program of activities.
Among the novelties of this edition, which are already marked by the format of the event, the organization of several masterclasses prior to the fair will be highlighted, aimed at buyers and confirmed importers in which the Galician wine and the autochthonous varieties will be presented. they make it unique in order to also sell “territory”. These classes will be taught by prestigious “Master of Wine” experts who will be announced in the coming weeks.
With regard to commercialization, it is expected that this edition will bring together around 50 wineries attached to some of the Denomination of Origin or IXP of Galician wine or Liquors and Spirits. During this meeting it was found that the response of the wineries is being very positive, since there is a high degree of loyalty from the wineries that have already participated in previous editions to which new ones have been added that will do so for the first time. Regarding the training of participating wineries (mostly small and medium-sized companies, although large wine groups have also confirmed), the presence at the fair entails the possibility of participating in training seminars on international marketing through digital channels and social networks. For these actions, Expourense will have the collaboration of entities such as INORDE, through its European project “Red AGRICONECT 4.0”, or the Galician Viticulture and Oenology Station – EVEGA.
Regarding the activities during the fair, several commented tastings will be given in face-to-face and virtual format, in Spanish and English, with the collaboration, among others, of the Galician Agency for Food Quality – AGACAL, an entity attached to the Consellería do Medio Rural and main institutional support of the fair together with the Provincial Council of Ourense. The second edition of the Ourense Vinis Terrae Extraordinary Tasting will also be held.
Although the Galician wineries will participate in person, buyers and importers will be able to do so in person or virtually. At this time, the participation of importers from around twenty countries on 4 continents is confirmed.
